Kaihara was founded in 1893 as a weaver of authentic indigo-dyed kasuri.

With the know-how of indigo dyeing, we invented Japan’s first rope dyeing machine in 1970 and turned to be a denim manufacturer in 1973.

Our greatest strength is the ability to integrate the traditions with innovation, just as we utilized the craftsmanship learnt from kasuri making to denim development.

Kaihara is going to celebrate 130th anniversary next year, we strive to make continual improvements and dedicate to produce denim that is durable, sustainable and friendly to human and the Earth.
