Performance wear has always been driven by ambition and ingenuity, using the most advanced thinking of its time to strengthen, protect and support the body in demanding conditions. Today, innovation is redefining performance once again as the materials that define modern technical apparel are re-examined for their hidden impacts on human health and the environment.
Performance Without Toxicity explores how reimagining materials, reducing chemical intensity and prioritising longevity can deliver high performance without compromise. Through material samples, prototypes, interactive installations and realised garments, the exhibition presents an approach to performance defined by purpose, where advancing human potential is intrinsically linked to protecting human wellbeing and the health of the planet.
To mark the launch, we convened industry leaders, innovators and practitioners for two days of discussion hosted by MYO at The Stables in King’s Cross; a thoughtfully designed events venue that supports creative and forward-thinking communities.
