The Mills Fabrica is an innovation hub dedicated to supporting ground-breaking techstyle (textiles & apparel), and agrifood tech companies through incubation and our investment fund. The Mills Fabrica also encompasses a sustainability-led co-working space, an experiential retail & innovation gallery called Fabrica X, and hosts curated industry events, to help build and inspire their community.

Job title: Fabrica X Intern – Exhibitions, Retail & Projects (35 Hours/Week, In-Office)

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, proactive and creative intern to join our Fabrica X team. This role blends exhibition visitor engagement, retail sales and project support for all Fabrica X internal and external projects. The ideal candidate is passionate about sustainability, has a strong creative flair, and possesses excellent communication skills.

The Mills Fabrica is a global platform dedicated to supporting start-ups innovating for sustainability and social impact within the techstyle and agrifood industries. Based in London and Hong Kong, The Mills Fabrica comprises an investment fund, co-working spaces, Fabrica X (innovation gallery, concept store & coffee shop), impact initiatives and partnerships.

Core Responsibilities

Visitor Engagement

  • Welcome and engage visitors with enthusiasm and curiosity, asking open-ended questions to understand their interests.
  • Confidently present the innovation gallery’s exhibitions to both the public and industry professionals.
  • Respond to visitor inquiries promptly and knowledgeably.

Customer Experience and Retail Sales

  • Deliver memorable customer service by sharing the stories behind our products and assisting with purchases.
  • Assist retail operations as required, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and achieving sales targets.
  • Support events and workshops with enthusiasm and adaptability.

Project and Exhibition Support

  • Assist in the delivery of exhibitions, external curation, partnerships, and events.
  • Conduct research and develop content for projects as required.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and take on additional tasks when needed.

Ideal candidate

  • Interest: Genuine passion for both fashion and food industries, sustainability and innovation, with a desire to learn.
  • Networking: Skilled at building and maintaining professional relationships with both visitors and industry partners.
  • Flexibility: Able to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Team Player: Willing to take on varied tasks, from idea generation to hands-on exhibition and event setup.
  • Enthusiastic: Eager to participate in events, occasionally during evenings or weekends (time would be given back in lieu)
  • Service-minded: Brings retail or hospitality experience, with a talent for delivering exceptional customer experiences and identifying opportunities to upsell.
