Company Overview

Colorifix was founded by two synthetic biologists who were developing biological sensors to monitor heavy metal contamination in drinking water in rural Nepal.

While testing these sensors in Kathmandu,  Jim and Orr began to learn about the enormous impact of the dyeing industry on water and human health; and realised that,  rather than simply monitoring the problem,  they had the tools to solve it. With some creativity and a bit of luck,  Colorifix was founded in 2016.

We are building a business that can help to transform the textile industry. Your job will be to make our brand lead the way in achieving this vision. We are looking for an experienced marketing professional to lead a high-impact, design-forward, and content-rich marketing strategy.

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will work closely with senior management and our Outreach Manager to:

  • Develop and implement the global marketing and brand strategy to position our brand and build market share
  • Working with manufacturers and brands, create the B2C connection so that consumers recognise Colorifix’s offering, actively seek it, or choose our products over similar ones
  • Through search engine optimisation, advertising, and other methodologies, ensure that when a brand, manufacturer, or customer is looking for a sustainable dyeing technology, ours is the one they find
  • Create high-quality content that brings together the diverse expertise that make up our company (synthetic biology, fermentation, fashion, textiles)
  • Design and orchestrate a meaningful communications structure (social media, blog posts, newsletters, etc.)
  • Help to implement collaborative, cross-divisional processes to gather necessary information (photography, information on scientific or other technical processes, etc.)
  • Ideate and create content around education and thought leadership on topics such as biodiversity, sustainability, technology, and science communications
  • Organise and develop partnerships for a range of physical events and showcases
  • Design a new website

Who are you?

  • You have a minimum of ten years’ B2B and / or B2B2C experience, including leading teams within organisations
  • You are keen on living our brand values and bringing them to life
  • You have the strong, authentic desire to be part of a sustainable, thoughtful company
  • You are, innovative, entrepreneurial, and driven to try new things
  • You are courageous when you need to be and supportive of your team
  • You have a strong sense of aesthetics and a high standard for all content that goes out
  • You have a good grasp of social media platforms and platform management software
  • You have an ability to translate a complicated message to a wide range of audiences and communities (consumers, researchers, scientists, communities interested in fashion, sustainability, etc.)

Location: London or Norwich, with the possibility of some remote working
Remuneration: Competitive salary plus stock options
