Colorifix was founded by two synthetic biologists who were developing biological sensors to monitor heavy metal contamination in drinking water in rural Nepal.
While testing these sensors in Kathmandu, Jim and Orr began to learn about the enormous impact of the dyeing industry on water and human health; and realised that, rather than simply monitoring the problem, they had the tools to solve it. With some creativity and a bit of luck, Colorifix was founded in 2016.
Colorifix is seeking a commercially minded Head of Finance to drive its newly formed Finance Division to support the next stage of the company’s growth. You would be joining Colorifix at an exciting time, the company having just closed a Series B funding round and being on the cusp of commercialising its R&D and rapidly expanding its team of 40.
You would manage a Finance Assistant (currently being recruited), work closely with the CSO, COO and CEO and be part of the managerial decision-making processes. Ideally, you would have experience of the needs of an SME and be comfortable owning the many different functions of our Finance Division (e.g., from sales-ledger management to ad hoc analyses and modelling to support strategic decision making). You would need to be comfortable working in an agile environment and with multidisciplinary team members. Disagreements happen in this kind of environment and so good people are an advantage.
You could work from home much of the time, however the ability to spend the occasional day in our Cambridge or Norwich sites is essential. Our London-based staff also have an office space they like to collaborate in.
With the support of the Finance Assistant and other team members, you would own all functions of the Finance Division, which include:
Role Requirements:
Title: Head of Finance
Reports to: CSO and COO
Location: Flexible but with ability to attend meetings in Norwich and Cambridge
Remuneration: £65k – £75k depending on experience
Holidays:25 + BH
Apply: Please submit your CV and cover letter to recruitment@colorifix.com stating the role that you are applying for in the subject line.
