THE LAUNCH OF GOOD FASHION FUND

Co-organized with the Clothing Industry Training Authority, HKRITA, REDRESS, Sustainable Fashion Business Consortium and the Office of the Hon Felix Chung Kwok Pan, member of the Legislative Council, Fashion Summit Hong Kong 2019 brought together academics, NGOs, media and industry leaders to discuss sustainable solutions for the fashion industry.

At the closing cocktail hosted by Ths Mills Fabrica, Amsterdam-based innovation platform Fashion for Good announced the launch of the Good Fashion Fund. The Fund is a collaboration between C&A Foundation, The Mills Fabrica and FOUNT. It is the first investment fund focused solely on driving the implementation of innovative solutions in the fashion industry. “With the launch of the Good Fashion Fund, we are delighted to partner with C&A Foundation, Fashion for Good and FOUNT to create a new platform to address the financing gap for sustainable innovations. We look forward to supporting the Fund with our network and partners in Asia.” said Vanessa Cheung, the Managing Director of Nan Fung Development Ltd. and the Founder of The Mills.

TITAS

TITAS (Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show) is one of the most important innovative textile exhibitions in Asia, exploring themes of sustainability, smart textiles, functional applications and smart manufacturing.

Fabrica collaborated with Far Eastern New Century (FENC) at TITAS 2019, showcasing at their booth with re:newcell, a Swedish startup transforming used cotton and viscose into new biodegradable pulp, new fibers, new yarn and new fabrics, as well as Resortecs, the Belgium-based company that has developed dissolvable stitching thread. FENC also hosted the seminar “Techstyle for Sustainability: From New Materials to Recycling Technologies”, discussing new innovations and business models in the fashion and textile industry, where The Mills Fabrica, re:newcell and Resortecs were joined by TG3D to present their sustainable businesses to the audience.

MERCEDES-BENZ PRESENTS: BAM FESTIVAL

BAM Festival is a two-day lifestyle festival held at Central Harbourfront, showcasing the best new experiences for the next-level lifestyle to the public. As one of the partners of the festival, Fabrica invited 9 techstyle startups including Origami Labs, Lumos, Simple Pieces, TG3D, Unspun, EMMESPHERE, Upmood, Vacanza Shirts and UNQ, to join at the event and introduce their products to visitors.

Fabrica Lab also brought its ‘Techstyle T-Shirt Painting’ workshop to the public, teaching people of all ages how to design and make their own special T-shirts.
