Colorifix is seeking an inquisitive and sociable Senior Finance Assistant to join its newly formed Finance Division. You would be joining Colorifix at an exciting time, the company having just closed a Series B funding round and being on the cusp of commercialising its R&D and rapidly expanding its team of 40.

You would work closely with the Head of Finance (currently being recruited) and admin colleagues who wear finance hats. Additionally, you will work with all your colleagues to support them with purchasing, customer liaison and to generally have a finger on the pulse of our organisation. Our team of 40 is fragmented, being split across three sites with some staff working remotely, so your ability to proactively build relationships will be highly valued.

You will own most aspects of our bookkeeping and manage the A/R and A/P ledgers. You would communicate with customer and supplier contacts, many of whom are foreign, so your ability to communicate financial information clearly will be an advantage. You might also liaise with our Portuguese subsidiary.

Finally, you would support the Head of Finance as necessary with financial reports, forecasts, and budgets.

You would work predominantly from either our Norwich or Cambridge sites with the option to work from home some days of the week.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

With the support of the Finance Assistant and other team members, you would own all functions of the Finance Division, which include:

• Oversee the purchase order system and ensure all purchases are recorded in Xero in a timely manner.
• Provide support to colleagues creating purchase orders
• Manage the accounts@ inbox: entering invoices, reconciling supplier statements, replying to queries.
• Raise sales invoices and liaise with customers
• Oversee aged payables and receivables to maintain timely payment and accurate reporting
• Manage the Fixed Asset register
• Liaison with Portuguese subsidiary and consolidated bookkeeping (with HoF assistance)
• Intercompany reconciliations
• Assist with prepayments and accrual adjustments
• Assist with bank and other balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintain a strong awareness of VAT
• Assist with import and export logistics and ensure correct compliance with respect to VAT and import duties
• Provide input for the development of new financial systems (e.g. purchase/stock management)
• Assist with monthly timesheet record keeping

Role Requirements:

• AAT qualification or similar
• Experience in a bookkeeping role
• Inquisitive and sociable; comfortable talking with colleagues to gain a deeper understanding of the business
• Highly organised
• Strong English communication skills
• A positive approach to problem solving and decision making
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Desirable: experience with Xero
• Desirable: knowledge of the Portuguese language
