Colorifix was founded by two synthetic biologists who were developing biological sensors to monitor heavy metal contamination in drinking water in rural Nepal.
While testing these sensors in Kathmandu, Jim and Orr began to learn about the enormous impact of the dyeing industry on water and human health; and realised that, rather than simply monitoring the problem, they had the tools to solve it. With some creativity and a bit of luck, Colorifix was founded in 2016.
As part of Implementation team, the junior implementation specialist will work together with our customers, bringing solutions to them and helping them to establish Colorifix technology on each site. They would be involved in the fermenter commissioning, demonstration tests (fermentation plus dye) at customers’ sites and client’s training onboarding on both laboratory and full-scale fermentation plus dye processes. They would also be responsible for knowledge capturing at the full-scale production in each site, to bring back the important inputs for the new strain development scientists and dye development at Colorifix’s R&D level.
The future junior implementation specialist will be expected to travel to client’s sites and to have good communication, practical troubleshooting experience and recording skills to be able to build the bridge between Colorifix development and the customers application.
