The Mills is a landmark revitalization project of Nan Fung’s old textile factories in Tsuen Wan in Hong Kong. This is a heritage and innovation project by the Nan Fung Group consisting of 3 pillars- a nonprofit Center for Heritage, Arts & Textiles (CHAT) focused on heritage & community, a retail mall Shopfloor focused on experiential & experimental retail and an innovation center Fabrica.
The Mills Fabrica is a go-to solutions platform accelerating techstyle (an intersection of technology and style – incl. fashion, textile, wearables and apparel) and agrifood tech innovations for sustainability and social impact. The Mills Fabrica runs a VC investment fund, startup incubator, and a co-working space/ lab/ store.

ABOUT THE INVESTMENT ASSOCIATE ROLE
We are looking for an Investment Associate who is highly motivated with strong intellectual capacity, business acumen, and a keen interest to drive impactful and sustainable tech innovations through early-stage venture investments. Our fund invests globally in seed to series B startups, as well as VC funds that align with our strategy and impact mandate. Our investment themes broadly cover 1) circular production and supply chains, 2) food and ingredient innovations, 3) next-gen biomaterials and 4) techstyle platforms and products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on techstyle and agrifood industries to source and identify potential investment opportunities. Attend meetings with target startups, GPs and peer investors
- Support the investment team in the due diligence of target startups and funds, prepare investment memos, presentations and quantitative/qualitative analysis including financial modelling, valuations and impact evaluation
- Work closely with portfolio companies and GPs to support their growth and success, monitor performance and potential follow-on investment opportunities in subsequent fundraising rounds
- Support the broader Fabrica team on other ad-hoc duties
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of working experience. A background in venture capital, investment banking, management consulting or a related field is preferred
- Exposure to tech startups and early-stage investments would be a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail
- Good knowledge of financial modeling and data analytical skills
- Team player with strong willingness to collaborate within Fabrica and across the wider Group
- Strong interest in venture capital and sustainability-driven investments
- Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese. Cantonese is preferred
